Discover Our Community-Focused Club in Central Mangrove

About Us

Situated in a picturesque rural setting just 40 minutes from Sydney, our club offers a full range of facilities to meet all your needs. It's the perfect spot for club outings, social group gatherings, and family events, catering to guests travelling from both north and south. We host all functions in our spacious Anzac Function Room or fully enclosed balcony.

Located on Hallards Road in Central Mangrove, in the hinterland of the Central Coast, our club boasts breathtaking views over the golf course and surrounding countryside. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of the ocean's white caps.

Our History

Founded nearly 90 years ago alongside establishing the local RSL sub-branch, the Memorial Club has deep roots in our community. We take immense pride in our strong community spirit and remain committed to supporting local initiatives. The Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club is honoured to sponsor the Mountain District Soccer Club, continuing our tradition of giving back to the community.

Mangrove Mountain RSL Sub-Branch

The Mangrove Mountain RSL Sub-Branch dates back to 1919, with Sgt A W Burns (Service No. 338) as the Founding President. The founding committee included three Boer War veterans: S McKenzie, C Stubbs, and J Wagner.

Around ANZAC Day 1919, returned personnel held their first meeting on an old log near the current Mangrove Mountain Union Church site. This inaugural gathering led to the issuance of a Charter in October 1919. Initially, meetings took place at Miss Hull's house until the Kulnura Hall was built, providing a central location for future meetings.

A dedicated RSL clubhouse was later constructed by volunteers on Hallards Road, on land donated by Mr Sharp of Peats Ridge. The sub-branch owned and operated this clubhouse, eventually obtaining a license to sell alcohol. A golf course was established across Hallards Road with support from the Regional Development ("RED") Scheme.

When the clubhouse needed significant refurbishment to meet licensing requirements, it was decided to replace it with a new, professionally designed and built clubhouse at the golf course. This led to the establishment of the Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club Limited, with the sub-branch as tenants. The sub-branch continued to own most of the golf course land under a long-term lease to the Memorial Club.

In October 2013, the NSW Branch State Councillors removed the sub-branch's Executive Committee and Trustees due to a sub-branch Constitution breach, appointing RSL Custodian Pty Ltd as the sole Trustee of all property and assets. The leased land was sold to Mangrove Properties (NSW) Pty Ltd by the NSW Branch.

The sub-branch charter was suspended in July 2014, and in February 2016, Mangrove Mountain became a Chapter of the Gosford RSL Sub-Branch.

Memorial Club & Golf Course

The golf course at Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club opened in 1974. In its early days, the course was quite rugged, and it's said that if you lost your ball in the rough, you'd light a fire to clear the area and find it the next week!

Membership has grown from an initial 20 members to 500. Our course now features a fantastic 10-hole layout, soon to be extended to 18 holes, along with a modern clubhouse and a Pro Shop that caters to both pro golfers and beginners.

FootGolf at Mangrove Country Club

We proudly host the only FootGolf course on the Central Coast. FootGolf combines the best of soccer and golf, played on the golf course with soccer balls and following mostly golfing rules. The objective is simple: kick the ball into specially designed holes in as few shots as possible. It's a fun, quick game—taking about 45 minutes—and perfect for the whole family. Call our Pro Shop to book your kick-off time!
